Recent Work:

The committee has been meeting and working with AT&T representatives to improve the appearance of  metal V-RAD cabinets with landscaping. Some success has been achieved, but the committee is hoping to continue this project.

In the fall of 2011, the committee worked with the Alabama Extension Service on plantings that provide food for honeybees. Clay residents participated at Chalkville Bryant Park. The committee is also working with the Extension Service in finding funding sources for more improvements around Five Mile Creek that flows through the park.

Brandy wine maple trees were planted along Deerfoot Parkway in the winter of 2010. The committee is hoping to get the funding for decorative lighting along the sidewalks in the area.

The committee also is hoping the city will have the funds in 2012 to put in a second "Welcome to Clay" sign along Chalkville Road.
